For our recent girl’s meeting we discussed this verse and to help us remember these qualities, we made bracelets to represent them.
For “word” we used a charm. I thought the key was appropriate because our speech usually gets us in trouble when we should be keeping our mouth shut tight. We also had other charms available, a cross, a dove, etc.
For “conduct” or life, we used a green bead.
For “love” we used red, of course.
For “spirit” we used a blue bead.
For “faith” we used a brown bead. If you have the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Since both of those are brown…
For “purity” we used a pearl, white or a clear crystal bead.
Starting with an 8″ piece of wire, we folded it in half over our beading pliers, then made a few twists. The charm and beads were then threaded on the wires. The ends of the wires are then trimmed to about 3/4″ longer than the beads. Using the beading pliers these ends are wound up in an end loop. Try to keep the sharp ends inside as you wrap.
We threaded this on a cotton cord, cut to fit around the wrist plus about 7″.
The beads should be centered on the cord, and a knot tied on either side to keep them in place. A toggle closure is then tied to the ends, adjusting their position to a good fit. (Please forgive the blurry pics!)
